Barrie Martin

Barrie Martin was an English left-back who began with Blackpool, signing professionally in 1953 after playing for Highfield Youth Club. He became a regular in the Blackpool side and featured in the club’s 1961–62 League Cup semi-final run.

Martin joined Oldham Athletic in 1964 before moving to Tranmere Rovers in June 1965. He was part of the Rovers side promoted from the Fourth Division in 1966–67. After retiring from football, he returned to the Fylde coast and worked in the motor trade. Martin died in Blackpool in February 2019.
